On 2nd June, the team from Pure Health and Beauty take on a 26 mile walk along the SW coastal path in support of their 2 favourite charities - GO Girls and Margaret Green Animal Rescue.
Gayna Hankey, Proprietor of Pure Beauty Salon on Poundbury said: “The GO Girls have done so much to help support women with gynaecological cancers. We see beauty and hair salons as a natural place for women to talk about “women’s issues”. A recent survey stated that more than half of women share secrets with their hairdresser that they would not with anyone else: we find this similar during beauty treatments. We can use this as an ideal opportunity for us to help share GO Girls information and raise awareness of gynaecological cancers, signposting them to the charity for information.”

With Cervical Cancer Awareness Week, 10-16th June almost upon on this, this is an ideal chance for all women to show their support and help promote gynaecological health.

Jen Barron, Head of Strategy for GO Girls said: “We want to bring on board as many beauty and hair salons in the county to support GO Girls. A safe place may be just what is needed to help women talk openly. We want an army of salons to help us raise awareness of gynaecological cancers. With this, the more likely we are to help improve earlier diagnosis, keep women healthy and improve survival in this challenging area of women’s health – let’s do what women have done so successfully for breast cancer and create change”.
