GO Girls are thrilled to have been shortlisted in for two UK-wide Charity Today Awards 2019, it was announced today. The charity is in the running for Volunteer of the Year for Hilary Maxwell and Fundraiser of the Year. GO Girls is one of just four charities from across the entire UK to have made the category’s final shortlist.
The Charity Today Awards gives charities the chance to tell their success stories to both national and regional audiences, regardless of their size, through the UK’s most prestigious and diligent charity awards programme.

The Charity Today Awards celebrate and reward true excellence within the sector, awarding the work done by charities and individuals who continue to raise the bar by setting new standards each year.

Jen Barron, Head of Strategy said: “We are thrilled to be shortlisted in two categories. GO Girls has worked passionately to raise the profile of gynaecological cancers – an area of health that for far too long has been kept in the shadows. Alongside this, our Chair, Hilary Maxwell, who works as a cancer nurse specialist led a small team of incredible and dedicated volunteers to raise £50,000 for Dorset County Hospital’s Cancer Appeal – how she did this on top of giving up so many hours on top of her day job amazes me – I hope she and GO Girls will be worthy winners”.

You can follow the awards on Twitter via @CharityAwards or by using the hashtag #charitytodayawards. Winners will be announced at a celebratory event on Saturday 7th September at the Key Theatre, Peterborough.
