Original work "CatSki" to auction March 2020

Cancer charity, GO Girls, are being supported by well-known, local artist, Paul Liggins, who is set to paint a unique one-off original painting for GO Girls to auction.

Paul Liggins is a Dorset artist who is recognised for his colourful paintings of coastal scenes featuring happy harbours and jolly fisherman. He will paint an original 20” x 20” acrylic painting on canvas for GO Girls called “Cat-Ski”, the work being inspired by the Weymouth & Portland’s Lion’s lion and GO Girls work.

Hilary Maxwell, Chair of GO Girls said, “We are thrilled to be working alongside Paul. His work is highly sought after and we hope to raise a considerable sum of money to help support our work. There is bound to be considerable early interest in the painting, not only because it will be a one-off, but the person or business who becomes its proud owner will know that their purchase will support our important cancer work too”.

Weymouth & Portland Lions who are supporting GO Girls in 2020 were instrumental in securing Paul’s support. For Paul, he said “It really wasn’t a difficult choice for me. The work GO Girls are doing is incredible. When the Lions approached me, I felt proud to know I would be supporting GO Girls with such a gift. So much money goes to breast cancer, I wanted to see funds go to gynaecological cancers where survival is still poor, particularly in ovarian cancer, so if this helps raise vital funds, it has to be a good thing to do”.

The painting will be revealed in March 2020 for Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month. Any expressions of interest should be addressed to hello@gogirlssupport.org. The charity hope to raise at least £5K for the original work.
